Decent Jobs for Youth Knowledge Facility

Digital skills are key to young people’s employability and their employment prospects.

Guy Ryder, Director-General, ILO

The UN Global Initiative on Decent Jobs for Youth focuses on interventions that are locally owned, aligned with national development priorities, and based on rigorous evidence of what works in different contexts.

The work is clustered around eight thematic priorities, which present immediate and long-term opportunities to tackle the global youth employment challenge:

  • Transitions to the formal economy
  • Digital skills for youth
  • Quality apprenticeships
  • Youth in fragile situations
  • Youth in the rural economy
  • Youth entrepreneurship and self-employment
  • Young workers in hazardous occupations
  • Green jobs for youth
  • Rights and voices
  • Gender equality

Partners may take global actions, become a partner, and now contribute to the new, soon-to-be-launched Knowledge Facility.

The Knowledge Facility is an inclusive initiative specifically designed to scale up action and impact on youth employment under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The digital platform draws from the collective experience of partners to share knowledge and facilitate learning opportunities to make decent jobs a reality for young people across the globe.

The Knowledge Facility is organized into three parts: Learn, Engage, and Contribute.

Check out the Learn section to browse key resources on youth employment, such as publications, data,  websites, tools, news, and blogs. All resources are discoverable through a powerful search feature.

The Engage section is where you’ll find interactive resources, including webinars, online courses, videos, and events.

Access the Contribute section to submit resources, gain visibility, and tap into a vast network of stakeholders dedicated to creating positive change for young people.
